Music is a non-verbal language fostering creativity and imagination and offers an alternative means of self expression to children who find it difficult to communicate through speech. Music is an art form, and the study of it provides children with exposure to other cultures and helps develop tolerance, which is the need of the hour.
The vocal form of music, the strongest and the most dominant component of Indian music was considered to be a major part of Natya Shastra. It goes with out saying that the song is the most ancient form of music.
we understand that the benefits of music are immense, some of which have been enumerated below:
• Vocal music can help the child relax and concentrate in his / her studies well, so that he / she doesn't become a singer alone, but also an excellent student who is good at studies.
• Music lessons help develop reading and listening skills, and improve concentration levels. Studies have indicated that music training provides stimulus to the parts of the brain involved in processing language and reasoning.
• Group music lessons help in social development, by encouraging cohesiveness through group playing. Practice and performance help to build discipline and self-confidence. In going through the various stages of learning music, the child also learns commitment and the value of seeing things through.
• Learning an instrument helps to enhance motor skills. Reading notes and playing help to foster hand-eye coordination.
Clay work is also considered to be very therapeutic - where children feel calm and relaxed while handling the potters' clay. Empirical research has proved that as children try giving shape to their enhanced imagination in higher classes, there is an increase in their power of concentration and observation. For beginners, the clay modeling period is all about the fun of making clay dough and giving it different shapes and forms. it starts from class 1. It helps them give expression to an idea along with developing motor-coordination. Students learn to make jewelry, utensils, masks as well as artistic showpieces of the day. In addition to developing fine motor skills, it also equips children with three-dimensional imagination and creativity.
The Sculpture room provides an ideal ambience for children to give forms to their thoughts using clay as a medium. In the process, the mind and body syncs.
The indoor games room is equipped with a table tennis board, carom boards and facilities for nurturing thinking skills through chess. Nicely laid out with ample light and air, it becomes a hub of activity, especially during the months of monsoon. All activities in this room are done under the supervision of teachers. The school also has a football ground, 2 indoor badminton courts and a cricket ground, which is getting ready.
It's our belief that a Healthy mind exists in a Healthy body.
